BrewTan B (formerly named Tanal B) is an all natural tannic acid that extends shelf life and enhances flavor and colloidal stability. The tannins in Brewtan B react with wort proteins though absorption and precipitation, which then settles out in the trub when brewing. Highly effective in coagulating and flocculating unstable haze producing proteins. 1 Pound bag.
To use when mashing, dissolve ¼ teaspoon of powder in warm water and add to mash strike water. If adding to the boil, dissolve ½ teaspoon of powder in half a cup of warm water, and add about 15 minutes before the end of the boil. If using in the boil, add Brewtan-B before adding any sort of kettle fining like Irish Moss or Whirlfloc.
