Oak Aging

All spirits when they come out of the still are clear, and some like Vodka and Gin stay that way. However, if you want authentic Bourbon Whiskey, Dark Rum or Tequilla, you must age the spirit in contact with toasted or burnt wood for 3 months to a year or longer. We offer the real thing - charred American Oak barrels made the the Gibbs Brothers Cooperage in Arkansas. These are unique, in that they are available in smaller 1.5, 2, and 3 gallon sizes, perfect for the home distiller. We also stock these in our warehouse, so you will not be dealing with a drop ship when you buy from William's.

As an alternative to barrels, we sell toasted and charred woods that impart authentic barrel aged flavor to your spirit in a glass jar or bottle.
