• Polypropylene construction means smoother insides and easier cleaning
• Pre-molded threads securely hold the valve (if ordered) and are less likely to leak
• Large 7.9 gallon capacity holds high krausen foaming heads on even the most active ferments
• Gallon markers (from 1 to 8 gallons) and liter markers are molded into the side.
This 7.9 gallon polypropylene fermenting bucket is less porous that HDPE plastic (commonly used on most bucket style fermenters). What this means is the inside is smoother than HDPE bucket fermenters, making is easier to clean and sanitize completely. HDPE, being more porous, also absorbs more aroma than polypropylene, which you may of noticed in the past when using the HDPE bucket style fermenter with a strong stout or red wine. This means there is less chance of flavors being absorbed into the smoother surface of this fermenter, compared with the old HDPE bucket style fermenters.
Items not included: You can order this with a pre-drilled hole for a valve, or undrilled in case you want a bucket without a valve for easier cleaning. If you order it with a pre-drilled hole, you will also need our valve item E72 to installed in the threaded hole. Needed lid is also optional, you can order one with or without an airlock hole if you prefer to use this as a food grade storage bucket instead of a fermenter.
Drilling Instructions: If you order this without the threaded valve area drilled, you will need to use a 5/8" drill and carefully drill out the center, taking care not to damage the threads.
