Do you want to drink the clearest beer possible from your keg as quickly as possible? The Gen 2 Top Draw® Beer Pick Up Tube With Weighted Filter fits any ball or pin lock keg, and replaces the rigid stainless dip tube with a stainless float pick up on a food grade silicone hose. This flexible hose holds a 1" stainless beer pickup tube which is held 1" below the surface of the beer by the float, and the included weighted filter prevents hop particles and other debris from clogging your pick up tube. As the level of the beer in the keg drops, the pick up tube remains 1" below the surface, always drawing the clearest beer all the way until empty. The stainless float ball itself is 1.9" in diameter. All metal parts are 304 stainless, and the filter features type 304 stainless mesh molded with HDPE plastic.
Installs in a few minutes - just unscrew the beer post on your ball lock keg, insert the provided short pick up tube, and attach the silicone tubing to the underside of the tube. Now dangle the hole assembly in the keg and cut the tubing so the float rests on the bottom of the keg. 32" of tubing are included, to fit everything from a Kegmenter to a 2.5 gallon keg.
Note: you will need to cut the tubing to size for most applications.
If you carbonate by C02 injection, you can also convert your keg to one that carbonates quicker, and clears faster. To do this (Cornelius threaded post kegs only), unscrew both posts and remove both dip tubes. Then on the IN side of the keg, install the long beer pickup tube and screw on the GAS side fitting (the one with a notch on the base nut). Then on the OUT side of the keg, install the Gen 2 Top Draw® Dip Tube, and screw on the BEER side fitting (the one without a notch in the base nut). Now when you attach the C02 to carbonate, it will bubble up from the bottom of the keg, carbonating quicker. When you dispense, the floating dip tube will make sure you get only the clearest beer from near the surface.
The only downside to this switch is your gas line is connected to a beer dip tube, and if the pressure in your gas line drops to less than the pressure in the keg, your gas line will fill with beer. This can be prevented with a ball or pin lock check valve like our items P77 and P78, or with an in line check valve like our item D37.
Includes 23" of tubing, 304 grade stainless float with attached pickup tube, Weighted Filter, and short replacement stainless beer dip tube with seating O ring.
Note: This has a float ball that is too wide to fit converted Sankey kegs. For a floating dip tube that fits converted Sankey kegs, see our item B05.

Q: Will this (Top Draw® Beer Pick Up Tube) or the FLOTit Floating Dip Tube fit through the neck of the Oxebar pet keg?
A: No, although we will have a filter designed to fit through the Oxebar Pet Keg opening, but not a float.

Clear Beer
I have found the pick-up tube to work very well… It draws a very clear Kolsch and leaves the trub in the bottom of the keg. I’m very happy with the results! I believe I’ll order a couple more I like it so well!
It tends to suck CO2.
This floating dip tube works well most of the time. Unfortunately, it tends to float too well and then the intake draws CO2 instead of beer. I solved the problem by slipping a stainless steel 3/4 inch nut onto the hose. Now it works fine.
Top draw
Works perfectly. Nice clear beer and no stoppages so far. Good economical way to get clear beer
Excellent item
After purchasing the Fermzilla and seeing how great the floating pickup tube on those worked I replaced 4 of my standard dip tubes with 2 more to be replaced with this floating dip tube. Zero issues and clean clear beer. Will never return to the standard.
Flawed Design?
I bought two. Neither of them float below the surface. The pickup tube sits on the surface-- sometimes drawing beer and other times drawing just co2. No idea what I'm doing wrong. William's Brewing Responds: If one draws C02, shake the keg a bit to settle the pickup tube below the float.
