A slightly darker base malt than Great Western Premium 2-Row, Great Western Northwest Pale Ale Malt is produced from well-modified, Western-grown 2-Row barley, with a kilning regimen based closely on traditional British Pale Ale malting practices. Contributes a malty complexity to beer flavor and aroma. Excellent in American Pale Ales and American versions of British beer styles. 2.6° to 3.0° Lovibond. 10 pound bag.
If you do not have a grain mill, we suggest you order fine milling if you use a Brew in Bag System or a traditional 3 tier mashing system. If you use a Mash & Boil, Grainfather, or Brewzilla type system, order the coarse milling for best results in the malt basket.

Go to base malt
Williams asked me to review a bunch of stuff I ordered a month or so ago. I brew a lot of British and American style ales. This malt is very comparable to Marris malts and a good base malt for a number of styles. It has some color so a beer made only with this malt has some body and color. I've been ordering Williams supplies for maybe twenty years. Always good fast service and products with integrity. Great people!
