Q: Should the weighted side be removable, like on the Gen 1 non-weighted filters? There's a decent amount of hop particulate in mine and the lid doesn't seem removable, at least not without some pliers and gorilla strength.
A: It is not removable.

I just used mine for the first time and it worked flawlessly. I brewed a lager with Novalager yeast, which left a very compact yeast cake, and I was able to transfer almost every drop to the keg. My only complaint is the weighted end doesn't appear to be removable, like on the older filters. Somehow or another I always end up with debris inside the filter, and with the older filters it's easy to just pop off the cap and rinse out. The weighted filter does not easily pop off though, and I'm not sure if it's supposed to come off or not. I posed the question on the Q&A tab so hopefully there'll be a response there. I'd easily give this 5 stars if the cap were easily removable.
