Do you want to get everything you need to start mashing and distilling at a savings? This package features the Brewer's Edge® Mash & Boil with Pump, Mashing Basket, pure copper Distilling Dome Lid, as well as the Kegland Pot Still Condenser, a quick disconnect Cooling Hose Kit, and a KegLand Distilling Parrot with Alcometer for monitoring your run. Get it all in this package and save $114.95 over separate purchase prices. A pot still is best for brown spirits like Bourbon, Whiskey, Rum, and Tequilla, as it does not remove the flavor of the wash from the final distillate.

Unlike the Digiboil, the Mash & Boil features precise digital temperature control with 1000 and 1600 watt settings, so in addition to setting the target temperature, you can also vary the intensity of the electric heat to allow for a slower temperature rise from the start of the run at 173° F to the end at about 204° F. This slow rise in the temperature of the boil results in the smoothest possible spirit, and maximizes yield.

To monitor your run, the solid stainless KegLand Distilling Parrot is included with an Alcometer Hydrometer that floats as the run progresses, giving you a real time alcohol strength reading from start to finish. This is vital as you need to know when to stop your run, typically when the distillate drops to 35% to 40% alcohol.

You will need to run cold water through the condensing column while your one hour (or so) run is in progress. Our Cooling Connection kit with 20' of hose and quick disconnect hose fittings is included for this, and has a female garden hose thread inlet so you can get cooling water from any garden hose style faucet.

A Mashing Basket is included so you can also create washes from barley and or corn mashes.

C74 KegLand Pot Distilling Column

Q: Many still vendors report the sales of stills to the US government. Does this product fall under that reporting obligation, as it could be used for illegal distilling, or do you not report sales since this is essentially an electric pot (though with copper dome) that can be used for many legal reasons?

A: This is an electric pot that can be used for many legal reasons, including distilling water with optional accessories. We do not report sales to anyone.

Q: Hello, Is this a 110v? How many gallons? Does it come with a sparge arm? Is the pump external? Is the pump able to handle high temps (pump wort through plate chiller)? TIA Will

A: The Mash and Boil with pump is 110 volt and holds a maximum seven and a half gallon capacity. It has a recirculation arm for mashing, but not a sparge arm. The internal pump can handle hot wort, but do not run the pump during the boil. Consider using a hop spider if you intend on pumping through a wort chiller at the end of the boil to reduce the chance of the pump clogging.

Q: What is the pump for?

A: Recirculating when you are mashing malted barley or malted wheat. The model with pump is not need for distilling if you are just distilling washes, and not mashing malted barley or malted wheat. You might want to look at our same package without the pump, item #B87.
