Home brewed hard seltzer is a little more complex than carbonated water with alcohol and flavor added. Unlike commercial hard seltzers, home brewed seltzers have a bit of character from the yeast fermentation than can complement the natural flavor and add a bit more dimension to the flavor.

We designed William’s Hard Seltzer kits both to save you money and put you in control – you control the alcohol level between 3.8% and 5.8%, and in doing so control the intensity of the additional flavors added by the yeast fermentation. As our blind taste tests showed no difference in flavor between seltzers brewed with corn and store bought cane or beet sugar, we left the sugar out, so you can source your sugar locally. This has the added advantage of dropping the cost, and you can make Seltzer for as little as $2.20 a six pack with our kit and your grocery store sugar.

We sourced our natural liquid flavors from a leading supplier of craft beer flavorings, and test brewed dosages to determine a flavor level that is perceptible without being cloying or overwhelming. For yeast, we picked the clean fermenting Lalvin EC-1118 Champagne Yeast, a rugged yeast that leaves very few flavors, and settles out completely to eliminate the need for filtering. To assist the yeast in fermenting the nutrient-free sugar base, we have included a generous amount of blended yeast nutrient.

Easy to make with home brewing equipment, click on the instruction link below for the brewing procedure. Makes 5 gallons with a starting gravity of 1.035 to 1.048 depending on how much sugar you use.

Easy to make but didn't like the flavor

Review by Victoria on 4/27/2025

Kit was really easy to brew but I was not a fan of the flavoring. It smelled like mango but didn't taste like it at all and had a very artificial taste. Should have read the reviews for the mango flavoring F19 before hand. I will try seltzer kits.
