This 4 micron grade filter pad is only for beer that has fallen very clear, and fining with Instant Isinglass is recommended before using to prevent clogging the filter halfway through a 5 gallon batch. These are disposable - you will need two pads per 5 gallon batch of beer. Made in USA by Gusmer. These 8.75" filter pads fit our Q73 Plate Filter.
For wine, we recommend these are your primary filter pad. You can also use 1 micron pads for wine that has fallen clear with good results.

Q: How can you tell 4 micron apart from 7 micron? I bought both but they are not marked. One has a slightly "bumpier" texture on one side than the other.
A: The 7 micron has a slightly bumpier texture on one side than the 4 micron. Both are smooth on one side, and bumpy on the other. Sorry for the mistake in labeling!
