Q: can I get replacement pump for the mass and boil series 2? mine went bad.

A: We are sold out of the pumps and do not know when we will get more in. Sometimes, the pump switch is the problem or the wiring. The pump switch is item J91.

Q: What is the outside diameter of the grain basket?

A: The bottom is 11.25" because the feet stick out, the top is 10.25" wide

Q: I notice that Beer Smith suggest using Brew in a Bag for all these All In One systems. I'm old school I still sparge. Any advice?

A: We recommend using the grain basket that comes with the Mash & Boil. If you have finely crushed grain, lining the grain basket with a straining bag will help prevent dust from messing with the heating element. In sum, we recommend crushing your grain as coarse as possible when using the Mash & Boil, and when you do this, there is no need to use a straining bag.

Q: Does the vented handle on the cover act as an airlock during fermentation?

A: It could, although the Mash & Boil is designed to mash and boil only, and although it can be used for fermentation, it is better to transfer out of the Mash & Boil after the boil into a clean fermenter.

Q: What size tubing should I use for attaching to the drain valve?

A: 1/2" inner diameter
