Q: My Mash & boil unit is the 1st production unit without "clips". Can you use aluminum tape (like used on a/c duct work) to secure lid sense there is little pressure involved ; or would you take in a trade in on a new model of Mash & boil?

A: You would need some kind of clips to hold the lid down, perhaps you can find something at a hardware store. The old unit cannot be upgraded to clips, as they are spot welded on. The original Mash & Boil is several years old, and we do not take trade-ins.

Q: Is the dome available separately? I already have the distilling kit and would like to add the dome to my system.

Q: Why is this $50.00 more than the Grainfather package? It looks the same to me.

A: Because this package has the heavy duty Universal Distilling Dome, which fits the Mash & Boil. The Grainfather package has a lighter duty dome that does not fit the slightly wider boiler of the Mash & Boil.
