Q: I have want to hook mine to a glycol chiller but the cheap plastic quick connects always leak. Is there a better quick connect that uses a hose barb and clamp like a ball lock quick connect for a corny keg? I've already tried both gas and liquid ball lock connectors. The liquid one doesn't fit at all and the gas one connects but nothing flows through it since theres nothing to push the plunger down.

A: Look at our item Q57, this is a brass version of the plastic quick disconnect, and the one we currently use for our tubing connection kit. We find them very reliable. One thing you can also do when you have a ball lock that is either hard to connect or disconnect, or that leaks, is to make sure the rubber O ring on the post is in good shape and a little Keg Lube goes a long way to making the quick disconnect easy to use and leak free.

Q: The outspout is very short for this and barely extends to the edge of pot making collections somewhat awkward. Is there anyway to extend it?

A: We use item J47 Silicone Tubing

Q: Do I need the dome Copper lid as well?

A: You can use a stainless lid, such as the lid that is standard on the Mash & Boil and Anvil Foundry. Or if you have Brewzilla, you will need to buy a stainless lid (item B80) or copper dome (item Q89)

Q: The quick disconnects have begun to leak/drip, any suggestions or tips to remedy this problem?

A: Check the o-rings for wear. Lube the o-rings before making the connections. Also do not turn up the water pressure too high as that will cause them to leak.

Q: Is this condenser sealed well enough that a vacuum could be applied for vacuum assisted distillation?

A: We asked Kegland about this and this was their reply: Unfortunately, the boiler and lid are not pressure rated and so we would not recommend doing this.
