Q: Can the flow of this pump be slowed down by connecting it to a voltage regulator or speed controller? I'm using it to recirc. my mash and it empties the mash tun of liquid before it drains back through the grain bed.

A: This is usually done with a restricting valve on the outlet to throttle back flow. You cannot hurt the pump, because it is magnetic drive and this will not overheat the motor.

Q: Maybe silly question: does the pump have different speed/flow settings? Or a dial to control flow rate?

A: The pump only has one speed, but you can control the flow out of the pump by adding a ball valve such as our item L61.

Q: Does the pump prime itself from the off position if the intake line is submerged?

A: No, the head and lines must be flooded before the pump will work.

Q: Can this pump be mounted vertically (with the inlet pointing straight up)?

A: Yes, as long as the inlet is flooded with liquid before you turn it on.

Q: Do you need special fittings because it's using BSP?

A: No, these have universal threads that work well with both 1/2" NPT and 1/2" British Standard thread fittings.
