Q: Can you recommend a false bottom for this kettle? Would the kettle screen work out if i was going to use this as a direct fire mash tun? Thanks for your help

A: The R49 Kettle Screen will work, but it is not ideal. You can also use our item S17 along with nipple E36 and a foot or so of S54 thermoplastic tubing, although this is not a perfect setup.

Q: Is there a sight glass that goes with this pot?

A: Our item B07 will fit in to the thermometer port, which is about 1/3 of the way up the pot. To install it elsewhere you would need to drill a hole (see item B33) and install a female bulkhead (something we will be stocking soon.)

Q: With this kettle, how would you recommend keeping hops, trub out of the drain after the boil completes?

A: You could use our KettleScreen, item R49. Another good way is to chill the wort in the pot with an immersion chiller, and then just take off the wort with the valve. The sediment will settle below the level of the valve and remain in the pot.
