good hydrometer upgrade

This is a good up grade if you bought a kit and it cam with one of the standard hydrometers. This one is much more accurate and easier to read than those. get one.

Needs a better storage tube

I found out that hydrometers are fragile, as I broke one. So I ordered a T25. I was never able to use it as the storage tube that it came in is capped off both top and bottom. Upon opening it, I had the both ends open and well it fell to the floor unexpectedly. I am sure the hydrometer is top shelf....just wish the plastic tube was solid on the end. Will order another.

Seems nice, but broke instantly

I feel like I am pretty gentle with things. I read from other reviews for this item that is was fragile. I didn't think it would be a problem, but within 10 minutes of opening it and doing my first gravity reading, I tapped it on the edge of the sink while rinsing it and it broke. That was quick. I do not recommend this very fragile hydrometer.

Accurate

I broke my first one of these (make sure you hold the cap in the tube when you return the hydrometer to the plastic tube it came in). I checked the accuracy of my new one using distilled water and got a reading of exactly 1.000. Although they aren't as precise and probably won't read up to 1.100, I had luck finding a cheap $4 hydrometer at a pet store (fish department) for temporary use after breaking my first one.

After waiting a long time for this item to come back in stock, I was glad to finally get it. I would give it 5 stars, but I feel that the range marks and numbers could be a bit darker requiring less effort to read.
