It works!

Review by Tim on 2/9/2019

Even a well-conditioned beer often throws a little sediment in the bottom of the keg, which then gets picked up in the first few pours. And then if you move the keg, even just a little, the remaining sediment gets disturbed and you get cloudy beer again. Well, not with this little device. You're always drawing from 1" below the surface, so you're getting the clearest beer in the keg. Even if you move it, the disturbed sediment at the bottom stays at the bottom and settles back out again, instead of getting sucked up in your pour. So far the only time I've had a problem was with an overcarbonated keg. When I put it on at serving pressure, it foamed - floating the ball, so the intake was in the foam. I opened the keg and found the problem, closed it back up and repressurized to collapse the foam, and all went well. So just be aware that can happen if you serve at a significantly lower pressure (or higher temperature) than you carbonated at.

Works as stated

It was easy to install and had no issues with using it. It helped us avoid drawing the trub from the bottom of the keg, and we got better tasting beer as a result. We are on the wait list to buy a couple of more when they're back in stock!

Top Draw Beer Pick Up Tube

Review by Richard on 11/13/2018

Just racked my latest IPA into a 5 gal. ball lock keg using the Top Draw Beer Pick Up Tube. Works great! I'm very pleased with the clarity of the beer. I'm going to order more. They are on back order now but should be in stock January 2019.
