good, not great

Review by Peter S. on 5/4/2008

Pros: Like some other reviewers, I found this a very easy kit to brew (my 2nd from Williams, after the Porter). Good taste, great color, decent head retention. Virtually no sediment in the bottle, and what there is doesn't move until you rinse the bottle. Also, my non-beer-drinking wife really likes it!

Cons: It's only had 1 month of aging so far, so my opinion may improve, but... As some others have said, this is definitely lighter-bodied than what I was expecting, and has much less chocolate/caramel/roast flavor. There's nothing wrong with it, but (so far) it hasn't reached out & grabbed me either. Unlike, say, the porter.

Not too bad

Review by SRfromGA on 3/13/2008

Pros: Easy to make. Tast is good enough to give out to your friends. It just wasn't what I was expecting.

Cons: The William's Double Stout is much better in my opinion. This stout turned out a little thin and bit sweet.

Very Popular

Review by Alan C. on 3/10/2008

Pros: I brewed this kit for Christmas presents so the recipents varied from those who know beer and those who know Bud. I received universal praise for this brew and several persons are now converts to Stouts. Easy to brew and easy to drink.

Cons: None. I liked it too.

Williams Stout

Review by RON H. on 3/7/2008

Pros: Very easy beer to brew and has excellent taste.

Cons: Was not as creamy as I'd expected and did not maintain a good head. Guess I was expecting something like a Guinnes but maybe I shouldn't have. Next time I'll try the double stout!

William's Stout

Review by Andrew C. on 9/21/2007

Pros: If your a beginner who loves stouts with a few ales under your belt, don't be afraid to try brewing this stout. I've brewed this one twice with good results both times.

Cons: The body was slightly light for a stout.
