Not a bad Stout

Review by Matthew on 6/1/2012

I brewed up a batch didn't add anything to tha batch but wish I would have. Was dark in color and had a wonderful aroma as soon as I opened the first bottle. Nice head but wished it was a little more "coffee" and "chocolate" tasting than it was. So I think it was a lighter stout. But as it aged in hte bottle it got more carbonated but th etaste got stronger and I liked it much better. Will try the Imperial Stout next time.

More like a cream ale

I thought this one was really fun. After the boil I threw in some cocoa powder. Finished product was a mild tasting stout all my friends enjoyed. Good one and not at all like a beamish or Guinness.

Low Risk, High Reward

I brewed William's Stout as my first kit years ago and then again just recently and remain impressed with how easy it is to brew a smooth, tasty stout. As with most things, this brew improves with age...if you can wait.

Beer Drinker

Review by Chad on 1/24/2012

This is the third time brewing this stout and each time has be spot on! The only varience I had was trying to make this stout into a Coffee stout. Turned out ok but not what what I was hoping. (all my doings, not the kit) This is the only kit that I have brewed more than once, and I plan on this beer being in on a regular rotation between other kits from here on out. There have been so many friends & family that say they do not like "dark beer" until they have a taste. I really have no choice but to keep buying this kit. I will let too many people down!

Good Stout

Review by Michael on 1/22/2012

My batch came out highly over-carbonated. After speaking with a friend at work, he told me to uncap the bottles, let them fizz out and recap them. He said that happens a lot with stouts. So I uncapped a few, let them fizz out, and recapped them, just as he had said. The beer tastes fantastic. It takes a little extra work to fix the carbonation problem, but it's worth it! I'd buy this kit again.
