This Must Not Be A Stout

This must not be a stout, because i don't like stouts. But i like this one! As with all the William's kits: simple, straightforward, fabulous results. My bride's favorite is still the Belgian Double, but this one ranks a very close second. Initial review 2015 December: update 2017 April. i have done 30 batches of home brew now, 6 batches of stout. This kit is my favorite stout: i ordered a kit from another distributor, and tried my own combination of ingredients. This kit has unmatched flavor, and if you add a pint of your favorite whisky just before bottling takes it from "A" to "A+". My bride's favorite is still a belgian. Mine is this kit with the whisky.

Coffee Stout Spinoff

I used this kit as a base for a coffee stout. I used 5.5 oz of roasted barley for specialty grains before the boil (up to 165F). After a couple days in the fermenter I poured in cold brewed coffee that was made with 6 oz of ground Caribou coffee. This beer didn't only meet my expectations it exceeded them. The coffee notes and smooth William's Stout base were a match made in heaven.

Great First Beer

I knew very little about beer brewing and I brewed William's Stout as my first beer. I was surprised by how easy and fun it was. Beer came out great and has only gotten better with time.
