Both Tasty and Long Lasting!

Review by Matthew on 6/5/2012

I tend to like Belgian ales but I was somewhat surprised and satisfied with this (kit) brew. I have not made a batch of beer in a couple of years and just now getting back into the swing, so I followed the directions pretty closely. As usual, being careful about sanitation and transferred into a secondary fermenter after about 7 days. Very clean taste both when I first tasted about 2 weeks later as well as 4 months later. Very nice!

very happy with results

Review by Robert on 3/21/2012

This was my first brew, and it has me hooked. I drank the first at about 12 days after bottling and it was good then, and keeps getting better as time goes on. I did cool with a wort chiller and transferred to a secondary fermenter around day 9, and was extremely careful with sanitation and exposure to air. Being my first brew, I do not know how it would have been if I hadn't done it the way I did, but based on the results, I will continue to it the same next time. I can't think of any commercial beers that this one tastes like, so it is hard to give a comparison, but what I can say is that it turned out to be a really flavorful and easy drinking beer.

Great for summer

Review by Chris on 11/30/2011

I added 6oz of local honey at the beginning of the boil and .5 oz orange extract at the end, and it turned out great. I would recommend this kit for the summer. Its a great beer for drinking at lunch or while working on the car or the yard. It reminded me of an Arnold Palmer. I dropped a star because the ingredients aren't labeled with type or weight.

Sweet Surprise

Review by Jason on 9/7/2011

I am usually not a big drinker of Belgian style ales, but I was very pleasantly surprised with this kit. It has a nice sweet taste to it with the perfect amount of carbonation. A great beer to cool down on a hot summer or fall day. I would definitely recommend this beer and would brew it again myself.

Great First Kit

Review by Eliza on 9/4/2011

This was my first kit and I recommend it to anyone. Hard to mess up. It came out hoppy, smooth, delicious -- and that's with a boil over and a slight malt burn on the bottom of the pot! The yeast they sent was very active. I fermented in my garage which stays around 60-65 degrees, then after priming and bottling, let it sit in a water bath (plastic garbage can + water + aquarium heater with temp setting) for the designated time. Did the trick. Cheers!
