Bulletproof

Review by Thomas M. on 7/29/2008

Pros: This was my first homebrew, and I still think it was the best. I did everything wrong (boil over, popped fermentor lid, etc.), but the beer came out great. I'm always tempted to rebuy this kit.

Cons: While I understand the likely reasons, I wish the ingredients were labeled so novices could learn as they go.

Great Beer!!!!!!!

Pros: Nice taste, head and easy to brew. I think it taste a lot like Sierra Nevada pale ale which is one of my favorites. I will be brewing this again.

Cons: None

Great IPA

Review by Lester K. on 7/26/2008

Pros: Very similar to a Sierra Nevada, but finishes a little cleaner. I've brewed the Williams Tripple Hopped Ale, and though both are great, this one is slightly better. I'm a big IPA fan and this is probably better than most store-bought IPAs (I'm obviously a little biased).

Cons: Blew the air lock off within the first 24 hours and I started to panic about contamination. I was told by William's that it's not that big a deal and turns out, it wasn't.

A great relaxing Ale

Review by Kurt H. on 7/24/2008

Pros: I enjoy a good IPA. If you appreciate a full bodied American IPA, this one is easy to brew and produces the wonderful deep, bitter hops flavor American IPA drinkers expect. It was the second batch I made and it turned out great. It is hard to find as good a brew in your neighborhood liquor store. I greatly enjoyed this one and will brew it again.

Cons: The only cons are that I had to leave a fair amount of Ale in the silt when I bottled. Secondly the American IPA has a shorter shelf life that the regular IPA. After it completed it's carbonation and aging, within 2-3 weeks the brew gradually began losing some of it's characteristic deep, bitter, hops. I thought I may have done something wrong during the brewing process so I called Williams up and I was told this would be expected.

American IPA is A-OK

Pros: Came out great even after air lock clogged and blew top. Thanks to Tim Clifford for the quick responses. Easy brew for first timers.
